Kieran Song

Kieran Song is about to publish his first full-length novel…let’s learn more:

Tell us a bit about yourself.

PathOfCrows

Everyone has that single wish they desire above all else. For some, it’s discovering that fairy tale romance and living happily ever after with that special person. For others, it’s world domination. For me, I  want my name synonymous with space fantasy fiction and writing a series that all sentient life will love.

Because love conquers all, even killer robots and kaiju beast monsters.

Aside from writing fiction that typically involves gods, monsters, magic, spaceships, frickin’ lazers, and bat shit crazy people, I also get a kick out of looking at blots of ink splattered on thin tree.

I love my family posse, great books, my mac book, the smell of citrus on human skin, sushi, and nuns who know kung fu.

You appear to focus mainly on short stories, will you be writing longer fiction in the future, or do you prefer the short form?

I’m actually a big fan of long form. In fact, the next book I’m releasing entitled THE CURSED GIRL is over 300 spanking pages of epic space fantasy that I think everyone will loved.  It’s best described as Star Wars meets Harry Potter told once upon a midnight dreary.

If you’re confused…well best read a sample chapter for yourself at the following link: http://www.mygeekmind.com/space-fantasy-series/the-cursed-girl-new-sci-fi-fantasy-series/

Did you grow up reading/watching sci-fi? what were your favorites?

Yes, I’m quite the scifi fantasy geek actually, and quite proud of it. After all, geeks rule the world. As a kid, the first fantasy series I got into were the Chronicles of Prydain written by Lloyd Alexander. After that was Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game, and then Jack McKinney’s Robotech series.  Since then, I was hooked, turning to A Song of Ice and Fire, The Kingkiller Chronicles, The Culture Series, Harry Potter, the Book of the New Sun, and Dune series to fuel my hunger for mind-numbing literature. In terms of TV series, I’m a big fan of Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones, and Firefly (curse you Fox for ruining that show).

What SF books or authors do you enjoy?

4) I believe I listed some scifi books I enjoy in the previous question, so how about I add some non-scifi fantasy books as well?  My actual all-time favorite books are: The Life of Pi by Yann Martel , the Book Thief by Markus Zusak , and Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy.  In terms of non-fiction, the Art of War is an absolute must!

What are you writing at the moment?

Currently at this moment, I finished the first draft of THE WOUNDED KINGDOM, book two of my Lore series, which I definitely think you should all check out.  I’m actually giving away a free novella at the following link for you all to check out!
